How long does on-site installation take?
A Mesocore home can be assembled in 10 days after the core module arrives on-site, provided site preparation and the foundation are complete before delivery.
The core module arrives pre-wired, pre-plumbed, and pre-tested from the factory, helping streamline on-site installation.
The 10-day timeframe covers on-site installation. It does not include permitting, site preparation, foundation work, factory production, or transportation. Move-in timing also depends on completed utility connections and any required local inspections and occupancy approvals.
What are the steps?
- Prepare the land: Complete site preparation, confirm delivery access, and coordinate utility connections and foundation plans. Your general contractor handles permitting.
- Install the foundation: Complete the slab or pier foundation before the core module arrives.
- Deliver the core: The factory-built core module is transported as a 20-foot high-cube ISO-certified container by truck, rail, or ocean cargo, depending on the route.
- Assemble the home: Complete placement, using a crane if required, assemble the modular components, and connect utilities.
- Move in: Once installation is complete and required inspections and occupancy approvals are secured, the home is ready for move-in.
What can affect the timeline?
- Permitting: Local requirements and processing times vary. Permitting can take weeks to months.
- Site conditions: Truck access, utility proximity, and land-clearing requirements can affect preparation and delivery.
- Weather: Factory construction reduces exposure to weather delays, but severe weather can still affect delivery and on-site installation.
